About The Trumpeters

Trumpeter Tabletop Games Society

Founded in 1964, the Trumpeters Tabletop Games Society is North America's oldest (if not in the world) continually running tabletop wargaming club and the largest tabletop gaming club in Canada. Today we are a registered non-profit society with over 120 members (with over 360 Facebook followers) offering a central meeting location for gamers and gaming groups from across the entire Vancouver lower mainland and beyond.

Friday Game Nights

The Trumpeters meet once a month on a Friday night (Friday Game Night) at Bonsor Recreation Complex in Burnaby, BC (5-minute walk from the MetroTown SkyTrain Station; also features ample free parking).
  • Friday Game Nights start at 6:30pm and go until 11:00pm.
  • Fee for a club member to attend Friday Game Night:  $4 
  • Fee for a non-club member to attend 
Friday Game Nights:  $6

Friday Game Nights for non-club members:  Free 

Prize Draws at Friday Game Nights!

Prize draws are conducted around 9:00 PM at Friday Game Nights.  Participants and game presenters are each given a raffle ticket.  In the case of game presenters, they are given a participation and a presenters raffle ticket.  This is a raffle draw includes various prizes such (game items such as miniatures, terrain, game/history books and magazines, game rules books, etc) to $25 Gift Certificates for Imperial Hobbies.

Trumpeter Salute Tabletop Gaming Convention

  • ​Trumpeter Salute is our annual 3-day Convention each Spring. Our games convention features 5 session times with over 100 great games presented each year. This is our society's major showcase.
  • Trumpeter Salute (annual convention) Admission:  $30 Full Weekend • $10 Friday •
​     $20 Saturday • $10 Sunday.

  • For information on Trumpeter Salute: Trumpeter Salute 2022
  • The best game from each session wins a $50 gift certificate from Imperial Hobbies. Criteria for Best of Session includes: How well the game is presented, player enjoyment and participation, and overall look and skill of assembly of all components.
  • The game presenters at
Trumpeter Salute conventions receive Canteen Cash, which can be redeemed for snacks and drinks at the Trumpeter Cantina at Trumpeter Salute or Friday Game Nights up until the month before the next Trumpeter Salute.
 • The first 50 people who enter a Trumpeter Salute convention receive free society orientated gifts (in 2018, these gifts were dice sets and pens).  Register your games early!

TRUMPETER'S Call to Arms! Game Day

A Call to Arms game day is held on a single Saturday, usually in October, that falls the day after Friday Game Night. This gives people a 2-Day game event.
​  • ​Usually 6-months after/before Trumpeter Salute
  • ​The Fee is $15 to attend this Saturday game day
  • ​It is a FULL Saturday: 9am to 11pm
  • 
​Players may set up a game on Friday game Night and leave it set up for continuation the following Saturday.
  • ​Trumpeter Cantina will provide an upscale menu for the Saturday Game Day.
  • ​Pre-registration is available along with pre-registering games with the Games Master.

​PRIZE DRAWS AT Trumpeter Salute!

Prize draws are conducted throughout the convention.  Participants and game presenters are each given a raffle ticket, and in the case of game presenters, are given a participation ticket and a presenters ticket.  Raffle prizes comprise game items such as miniatures, game books and magazines, etc., to Gift Certificates for Imperial Hobbies.

Annual Membership Fees

  • 1 year Regular Membership:  $15*
  • 1 year Associate** Membership (for membership ages 14-18 years):  $10 
  • Membership Renewal:  $10 (if you had paid previous year membership)
  • Season-Pass:  See below
        * January 1st - June 30th:  $15 for the year/ July onward:  $10 
        ** Associate members do not have voting rights at annual general meetings (AGM)

The "Season-Pass" Membership Option

  • The Season-Pass:  Society Members: $55 / Non-Society Members: $60 
The 
Season-Pass is available from October to the end of January the following year and gives you:
  • Membership into the Trumpeter Society.
  • Pre-paid admission to our annual 3-day society game convention Trumpeter Salute (normally costs $30 for all 3 days). 
  • Pre-paid admission to all 
Friday Game Nights.  Normal admission to Friday Game Nights for a society member is $4, for a potential cost total of $44 if you attend all 11 Friday Game Nights in the year.

NOTE: When the Season-Pass is purchased between October and December, membership into the Trumpeter Society comes into effect January 1st.  You will receive your (new) membership card in January. 

Benefits of Becoming a Trumpeter Society Member

  • Trumpeter Society members receive, upon presenting their valid membership cards, a 10% discount at sponsoring retailers such as Imperial Hobbies, Burnaby Hobbies, Hammertime, and many more (see Retailer Supporters page).
  • Trumpeter Society members, with valid membership cards, receive a discounted entrance fee to Friday Game Nights.

Trumpeter Food Services

Monthly Friday Game Nights, and Trumpeter Salute conventions, includes a staffed concession/cantina where a variety of snacks and drinks may be purchased a reasonable prices.
