The Bolsheviks are arriving in mass on both the right and left flank, with their ruthless determination to take control of the train depot. They have F-17 tanks, mortars and artillery. The White Army is outnumbered, especially on their right flank, but they do have initial control of the forest surrounding the train depot. But they can hear the whistle of a Red Army train in the distance, probably bring more Red Army reinforcements. 3. GAME: Village of Tanks GENRE: WWII Land Combat HOST: Craig Murray SCALE: 28mm RULES: What a Tanker PLAYERS: 2-6 SCENARIO: France 1940. In the midst of a quaint French village, locals hearken to the rumble of approaching tanks. Indeed, German tanks are rolling in from the east while French tanks are plodding in from the west. The manager of the village's chandelier factory seems very nervous! Players command individual tanks in this quick/easy/fun game from TooFatLardies. We will likely play multiple games and first timers are definitely welcome. 4. The U.S. Navy has detached a small bombardment force to lend verisimilitude to the operation. Unknown to the Allies, the Japanese just happen to be perfectly positioned to respond. Playtest of a scenario to be presented at Enfilade 2018 games convention in Olympia, Washington State, USA.. 8. GAME: World War One War in the Air GENRE: WWI Air Combat HOST: René Charbonneau SCALE: 1/72nd RULES: Canvas Eagles: PLAYERS: 2-12 SCENARIO: Struggle for the Air: June 1916 The Germans are bombing positions around Verdun as a last attack as the battle is winding down. GAME: Boer War: The Battle of Belmont (1899) GENRE: Colonial Wargaming HOST: Kevin Aldridge SCALE: 15mm RULES: The Men Who Would Be Kings (Osprey) PLAYERS: 4 SCENARIO: "Dammit, Colville, they're not there." said Lord Methuen, eyeing the distant heights. "Johnny Boer is sitting uncommon tight, if they are." replied Colville, noting the rocky outcrops on the slopes of Mount Blanc. "No... I doubt if there's a Burgher within a hundred... Good God!" The shots of 4000 mausers rang out, sending the two British Generals sprawling. Methuen's force is marching north to lift the seige of Mafeking, but first must evict a Boer force on his flank that is threatening his lines of communication. Will Johnny Boer make an 'uncommon' decent stand at the Battle of Belmont? 10. GAME: Pursuit to Merxem GENRE: WWII Land Combat HOST: Roy K. SCALE: 15mm RULES: Battlegroup by Ironfist Publishing/PSC PLAYERS: 2-4 SCENARIO: Belgium, October 1944. Elements of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division encounter the rearguard of the German 711th Infantry Division as it retreats towards the prepared defense line on the Albert Canal. The Battlegroup rules encourages a more considered style of play compared to other WWII rules, with a strong emphasis on suppressing and outmaneuvering opponents rather than blowing stuff up. Since I'm still fairly new to these rules this is going to be very much a 'learning' game for all concerned. You'll to need to be able to bear with me if we need to look stuff up or things don't end up getting done the right way the first time. 11. GAME: Batman Miniatures Game GENRE: Super Hero HOST: Charles Silbernagel SCALE: 35mm skirmish RULES: BMG 2nd Edition PLAYERS: 2-4 SCENARIO: Take control of a team of bold heroes, or nefarious villains, and fight for control over your objectives on the dark and dangerous streets of Gotham City.
