Code of Conduct

To ensure Trumpeter Society events, Trumpeter Salute and Friday Game Nights, are enjoyable for all participants and game hosts, the following are suggestions to follow.  When playing in a game, the participant is expected to:

1. Conduct Yourself in a Professional Manner

Please keep your cool even if those around you do not.  If you have a question or an objection, make it clear, without personal attacks.  Respect the decision of the game host.  Nothing ruins a game quicker than constant bickering and complaining.  If you still feel strongly about an issue, bring it up with the game host after the game.

2. Respect the Figures, Models, Terrain and Game Aids You are Using

The game host has spent money and time painting the figures and terrain and has spent money and effort providing the game charts and rules.
  • Move the figures by their stand or individually.  Never drag the figures across the table, scoop them up in groups at a time, and never toss or mishandle someone else's miniatures.
  • Never place the miniatures where they may be knocked off the table.
  •
Never place items on top of the miniatures.
  • Never place food or drinks on or near miniatures or terrain on the game table.
  • Never touch figures, terrain, or game aids with greasy or food-stained fingers.  Eat and then wash up before the game, or follow the rule: "move with the right hand and eat with the left hand".

3. Sign Up For Games (TRUMPETER SALUTE)

Signup sheets are placed near the entrance to the gaming area at least one hour before the game is to start.
  • Each game sign-up sheet has a maximum number of registered players, and those who sign in those spots are guaranteed a place in the game.
 • Each game sign-up sheet has additional spaces for alternate players.  If a registered player is unable to participate, or does not appear within 10 minutes of the start of time of the game, the game host will add players, in order the appear, from the alternative player list.
 • If you have signed up for a game and decide before the game starts not to participate, please cross off your name from the sign-up sheet as soon as possible.
 • If a registered or alternative player position has a name crossed off, DO NOT PLACE YOUR NAME IN THAT SPOT.  Once a sign-up spot has been used, it is not available for re-use.  Add your name to the next available unused registered or alternative player spot.
 • Do not sign up as a registered player for more than one game per gaming period.  If you are signing up as an alternative player, you may put your name in for more than one game, but if you are not at the table when the game host calls your name, you will lose your position on the alternative list.
 • Only one person can be assigned a member's proxy for the purpose of signing them up for a game during a single game period.  An attending member can carry no more than 2 proxies during Trumpeter Salute

4. Appear at the Gaming Table in a Timely Manner (Trumpeter Salute)

If you are a registered game participant, be sure to arrive and introduce yourself to the game host at least 5 minutes before the game is scheduled start time.  If you have not arrived with 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, you may be replaced with a player from the alternative name list.
