GAME: Gettysburg: "Th' Whole Dang Thang" GENERA: American Civil War HOST: Kevin Aldridge RULES: Bonnie Blue Flag! (home brew) SCALE: 6mm PLAYER SLOTS: 6+ SCENARIO: Yep, three days of Gettysburg in three hours at Bonsor. Home brew big battle rules have been specifically written to accommodate our game night limitations, and these will hopefully allow us to finish the darned battle! They feature command & control, big operational moves, and fast combat on a 14 by 12 mile table top. Longstreet's dream flanking move to the right and Custer's cavalry battle on the 'East Field' are now do-able. Lots of commands are available, and late arriving corps are there for late joiners. 2. GAME: Falling Sky: The Gallic revolt Against Caesar GENERA: Ancients Board Game HOST: Daniele Cerin RULES: COIN rules SCALE: ? PLAYER SLOTS: 1 - 4 SCENARIO: Falling Sky: The Gallic Revolt Against Caesar (formerly Gallic War) takes 1 to 4 players into the military actions and complex politics of Roman-occupied but not-yet-conquered Gaul. Caesar and his hard-hitting legions cannot be everywhere and will not triumph without powerful allies among local tribes. But each Gallic confederation has its own agenda and must keep its eyes not only on the Romans but also on Celtic, Belgic, and Germanic rivals. Players recruit forces, rally allies, husband resources for war, and balance dispersed action with the effectiveness and risk of concentrated battle. 3. GAME: Relief of Budapest GENERA: WWII Land HOST: John Atchison RULES: Schwere Kompanie SCALE: 15mm PLAYER SLOTS: 2 to 6 SCENARIO: Hungary 1944, the German elite 4th SS Panzer Korps has been ordered to attack and relieve the besieged city of Budapest. Can the German heavy armour break through the Russian tank lines and save their trapped garrison or will the Russians crush the city before help can arrive. 4. GAME: Another Roadside Picnic GENERA: Sci-Fi Land HOST: Thomas Robson RULES: All Units Engage SCALE: 28 mm PLAYER SLOTS: 2 SCENARIO: The Bandits are causing trouble in the 'Zone'. Time to show them what it means to be a Stalker! 5. GAME: Fenian Raids: After Ridgeway GENERA: Black Powder Land HOST: Colin Upton RULES: Rebels & patriots SCALE: 28mm PLAYER SLOTS: 6 SCENARIO: After their triumph at Ridgeway the Fenians decide to quit while they are ahead and retreat towards the St. Lawrence River hoping to take ship to the safety of New York State they find their way blocked by a force of Canadian militia and British regulars. (fictional scenario based on real events) 6. GAME: War of the Roses 1455-1487 GENERA: Board Game HOST: Dennis Chin RULES: Richard III : The War of the Roses SCALE: Board-game by Columbia Games 2009 PLAYER SLOTS: 2 SCENARIO: Richard the Third is a game that recreates the dynastic struggle between the royal English houses of York and Lancaster. Strutting across the game’s stage are Richard III, Edward IV, the mad-king Henry VI with his Queen Margaret, Henry Tudor and Warwick, the notorious “Kingmaker”. 7. GAME: Repo Fleet GENERA: WWI Naval HOST: Ed Beauregard RULES: Steel Fleets SCALE: 1/2400th PLAYER SLOTS: 8 - 10 SCENARIO: It is noon on December 1st, 1915. A U.S. squadron has been dispatched to South America to enforce the U.S. Government’s intention that South American countries must honour their debts which were run up primarily for the purpose of building unreasonably powerful navies. This has met with outright hostility, and the reaction in these countries leaves no doubt that force will be necessary. And then one of the European powers decides it is time for revenge. 8. GAME: 18xx Rail Games GENERA: Board Game HOST: Sanna or Bill Dixon RULES: 1846 SCALE: Board Game PLAYER SLOTS: 5 to 11 SCENARIO: 1846 is a good beginners game with enough meat in it for advanced players. 9. GAME: Terraforming Mar GENERA: Board Game HOST: Richard Africa RULES: Terraforming Mars with Prelude and Colonies expansions SCALE: Board Game PLAYER SLOTS: 4 SCENARIO: Make Mars habitable! 10. GAME: WWI Air GENERA: World War One Air Combat HOST: René Charbonneau RULES: Canvas Eagles SCALE: 1/72nd PLAYER SLOTS: 2 - 12 SCENARIO: September 1917, On the Western Front, the weather is starting to turn foul the struggle in the air gets rough. 11. GAME: Board Game- Betrayal At House on the Hill GENERA: Board Game HOST: Kathleen Moore RULES: Widow’s Walk expansion is in effect SCALE: N/A PLAYER SLOTS: 3 - 6 but 4 works best SCENARIO: 'Prodromal' stage is exploration of the House; PVG stage scenario determined when the Haunt is triggered; could be any of 100 different Haunts 12. GAME: DND GENERA: RPG HOST: Graham Acton RULES: DND 5th ed, DMG, PHB, MM, Sword Coast SCALE: 25mm PLAYER SLOTS: 2 - 6 Players SCENARIO: Having fended off the cultists attack on the village and thwarted the assassin, you now know where the cultists lair is and It is time to bring the attacks to them. |
