1.
GAME: Battle of the Pyramids (July 21st, 1798) GENERA: Napoleonic War HOST: Kevin Aldridge SCALE: 2mm (9 inches to the mile) PLAYERS: 2 - 6 RULES: Blucher (slightly modified);. SCENARIO: It's 3 Thermidor An VI (July 21st, 1798), and Citizen General Bonaparte's destiny demands that he gaze upon the face of the Great Sphinx at Giza. Trouble is there's about 40,000 assorted Mamelukes, fellahin, slaves, Bedouins, Janissaries and Albanian gunners between him and it. NOTE: Here's what you get in this 'cat-and-mouse' game: Napoleon and his 25,000 man Army of the Orient; Moorad and Ibrahim Bey's 60,000 man Mameluke armies; Capt. Perée's French gunboat flotilla; 19 Egyptian gunboats; the River Nile; the vast and burning sands of Egypt; the ancient city of Cairo; the Giza plateau and necropolis including the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure; the Great Sphinx itself. You've probably played Waterloo at least half-a-dozen times. But how often have you had a chance to game the Pyramids? _______ 2. GAME: American War of Independence GENERA: Black Powder HOST: Colin Upton and Dennis Chin SCALE: 25mm PLAYERS: 4 RULES: Rebels and Patriots Blucher (slightly modified) SCENARIO: The historic Battle of Sleepy Hollow September 12, 1778. Hessian troops (mercenaries hired by the British) engage Continental troops in this famous battle located 100 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina during the American Revolutionary War (1776-1783). Drop by and watch us play this game with these new set of rules (new for me, anyways). NOTE: Perry Miniatures, metal, recently painted. _______ 3. GAME: Kings of War GENERA: Fantasy HOST: Luke Fraser SCALE: 28mm PLAYERS: 6 - 12 RULES: Kings of War - Fantasy Battles SCENARIO: Kings of War is a spiritual successor to Warhammer Fantasy Battles, taking the Rank & Flank maneuvers you know and love and streamlining the rules to keep things moving. It's model-agnostic and has no individual model removal, so it's an absolute dream for hobby. NOTE: A few of us will be practicing for Masters later this month, but there's always someone to run demos if you want to give it a try. _______ 4. GAME: FokkerBall GENERA: WWI Air Combat HOST: Troy Chard SCALE: 1/144th PLAYERS: 2 - 12 RULES: Canvas Eagles slightly modded ( Incendiaries! ) SCENARIO: Early 1918, Germany vs Britain. Each side has an observation balloon behind their trenches. Shoot down the enemy balloon for 20 points. Enemy planes for 5 points. Your pilot dies, -5 points. The team with the most points at the end of night wins. NOTE: Played on a hex mat with 3-inch hexes. _______ 5. GAME: Cuba Libre - COIN - (LINK) GENERA: Board Game HOST: Dan Dunn SCALE: Board Game PLAYERS: 4 with 2 - 4 hrs playing time RULES: Cuba Libre SCENARIO: Cuba Libre, the Cuban Revolution. Castro’s “26 July Movement” must expand from its bases in the Sierra Maestra mountains to fight its way to Havana. Meanwhile, anti-communist student groups, urban guerrillas, and expatriates try to de-stabilize the Batista regime from inside and out, while trying not to pave the way for a new dictatorship under Castro. Batista’s Government must maintain steam to counter the twin insurgency, while managing two benefactors: its fragile US Alliance and its corrupting Syndicate skim. And in the midst of the turmoil, Meyer Lansky and his Syndicate bosses will jockey to keep their Cuban gangster paradise alive. _______ 6. GAME: Battletech GENERA: Science Fiction HOST: Steve Dickey SCALE: 6mm PLAYERS: 2 - 8 RULES: Battletech SCENARIO: We are going to be testing out a brand new Battletech Solaris VII arena map! Old vets are encouraged to come out and apply their knowledge, new folks are encouraged to come out and learn! We will be supplying everything you need to participate in this demo. _______ 7.
