The game uses a dial-based initiative system (an evolution of x-wing, for those familiar with it) to resolve activations, with each unit locking in its action at the beginning of the round. Play proceeds in initiative order, with different actions taking place early and late. Not only does this create a tense fog of war effect, but it gives concrete mechanics to each unit, bringing their theme to life with gameplay.
